The American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE)

NORTH CAROLINA CHAPTER

The AABE North Carolina Chapter is committed to driving positive change in the energy sector by promoting diversity, education, and community engagement. Our focus on empowerment, knowledge sharing, and inclusion sets the foundation for a more sustainable and equitable energy future. Join us in our journey towards a brighter tomorrow.
The American Association of Blacks in Energy is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit professional organization incorporated in 1977. It is committed to ensuring the input of African Americans and other minorities into the discussions and development of energy policy regulations, research & development technologies, and environmental issues. Through strong membership, AABE continues to grow and provide networks and professional relationships that benefit members, the companies they represent, and the communities they serve.
A Letter From Our President
As valuable, educated members of this industry we recognize energy is a necessity not a luxury.  The decisions that we influence should reflect this fundamental truth. Inclusiveness is necessary - not a maybe - and no community should be left out of the energy transition.
Accountability is key in this process. We should not allow people to speak for us if they have not spoken to us. The customer must be informed. We must be brave enough to add our supply to the energy conversation and never stay silent even when the tough conversations are needed and the road ahead appears difficult. Tough does not mean impossible.  The focus of the energy sector must be resiliency, economic development and building cleaner energy solutions. Hard work, diverse thinking, and the ability to adapt with change will guide us to success.

I consider it an honor and a privilege to lead and work shoulder to shoulder with the amazingly talented Executive Committee of our chapter. I encourage you to consider adding your gifts and talents to this organization, every joint supplies.
